oh goodness you. i've had a super busy morning. i swear mom takes me all these weird places just to tire me out. this morning i was up early again. sun is getting up earlier and so am i. did the breakfast thing. dad went off to work. mom said we would go out and do fun stuff. go to park, go to park, go to park. um, not the park, i've got something else in mind. where did we go? the freaken grocery store. come on now. mom was all- oh look, chocolate cookies are on sale. mom bought her grocery stuff and we crossed the street to the hospice shop. they had some cool stuff that wasn't there yesterday. mom got me two new stories: that's not my monster and that's not my pirate. great, more stories. where is all the fun mom promised? mom looked at her watch and was- ok, let's go. it's time for fun. go to park? no, how about playgroup? PLAYGROUP!
playgroup, playgroup, playgroup. it took us a few minutes to find the right door to go in but eventually we made it to the playgroup. it's just a small new group. i was the only boy and one of the biggest kids. there were mostly little baby girls. all they wanted to do was drink milk and drool on themselves. fine by me. i got to ride all i wanted on the motorbike. there was also a tent with a tunnel. i pretended i was in a cave. i did some pretend cooking on the stove. at arts and craft time a couple of the big girls made egg carton flowers. i wasn't interested, i rode the motorbike. i did sit down for snacks. i got to eat all the orange and apple slices i wanted. i also got a cup of apple juice- with no lid! i drank from the cup with no help and only spilled a little on my shirt. mom was impressed.
at the end of playgroup we sat and sang some songs. one of the moms played the piano and us kids got to pick instruments from the box. i got triangle and tictoc maker. it was great. mom was all- that is probably the best pound we will spend today.
when it was time to go i didn't cry. mom said we could go back next time. cool. we left playgroup and mom took me down the hill to this bookstore place- bookcycle. i kept asking- where are we? where are we? i don't get down to that part of town very often. mom and i went around the bookstore. i wasn't interested in shopping so i was running around and causing a ruckus. mom used her mom voice on me and growled- sit down when i was being a little naughty. some guy was so scared he actually sat down too. mom laughed at him and said he was a good boy. i just looked at him like- weirdo. he was all- everyone knows the mom voice, you do what it says even if it's not your mom.
we left the shop and mom said we could take the little hill or the steepcote hill to get home. steep hill, steep hill. i do not think i chose wisely. steepcote hill is really steep. mom and i made it to the top eventually.
got home and the phone rang. grdad! i got to have a nice chat with grdad. he returned my call from last week. he and mommom are back from france. yeah grdad. i told him about the motorbike and new playgroup. mom made lunch and i ate that. watched spongebob. i'm pretty tired now so i think i'll get blueberry and do my nap.
