there's exciting stuff going on in town. mom and i walked out the front door today and the work guys were setting up barriers. there were barriers along our whole walk into town and then all over town. mom and i went on a few adventures. first we stopped at sainsbury's and picked up some things dad wanted. then we walked down the big hill. i kept asking mom- where are we? what are we doing? look at all the houses! mom said we were going to visit the new american style diner and talk to the bosses. so we did that. kind of boring but i was a  good boy so mom bought me a chocolate milk shake. mom said C- for the chocolate milkshake, it was watery and hardly tasted of anything. i thought it was delicious. after the diner mom and i stopped off at the art gallery. we looked around. mom spoke to the gallery owner. i told him that i like to paint pictures. he said i should bring some in then and maybe he will put them up. mom said that she would be back and bring some of her work. after that we stopped at the big kid toy store. mom bought some display sleeves for her art project. she said they were the prefect thing to hold her little prints. blah blah blah.
finally we left the arcade. i wanted to keep walking down the hill but mom said- we need to go up it. i had a little melt down. but i want to go to the shops. whaaaaaa. mom was all- we will go to the shops they are up the hill. see this makes no sense to me since we usually have to go down the hill to get to them. that means we should still go down the hill. i cried for a few blocks until i realized that mom was actually taking us i the right direction. we stopped at one shop and they had some really cool fighter jets in the cheap toys box. mom said we could get them. awesome.
we kept on walking around town going in different shops. the barriers were all up. lots of people waking around and a million bicycles. what the hell is going on? we came across two huge fire trucks parked up. i walked around looking at them. i talked to one of the firemen and told him about my firetruck. another fireman gave me a balloon and some bubbles. what a day! there were loads of different booths set up. mom and i stopped at a few of them and picked up free things. i got another balloon from the halford's stand. it was a floaty one. they are sponsoring today's event- some kind of bicycle race through the town. mom says later, after dinner we can go watch a bit of it, you know since they will be riding right pass our front door.
and that was our big adventure in town today. on the way home with my balloons i told mom- this could be the best day ever. she laughed at me and sang the spongebob song.
mom and i went out and watched the bike race after dinner. it was good fun
