today is friday and you know what that means- PLAYGROUP! whoo-hooo. playgroup was super awesome today. we had our christmas party. mom spent all of yesterday baking things to bring. today she packed the stuff in a bag and we took it with us.
so this morning it snowed. i saw it snowing. i grabbed mom's arm and said look- it's snowing! oh so exciting. i was so into watching the snow fall i wasn't paying attention and fell off the chair. doh! mom and i got dressed and put on our snow gear. we walked into town and i kicked snow. mom said- this is good snowball snow, fluffy but a little wet. i want to make snowballs. mom said- not right now, we've got stuff to do. i trudged along next to mom. we're going to buy pretzels. but i want to go to playgroup. pretzels first. blah blah blah. i wasn't too thrilled about that but then i found a penny. cool. i put my penny in my pocket and then i found another one! the path to the pretzel lady was paved in pennies! mom got her pretzels and i got pennies, everyone was happy.
finally got to playgroup. mom took off my boots and my snowsuit and my mittens and my hat, cold weather gear is such a pain. i just wanted to play. then mom made me go potty. but i want to play! finally got into the hall and what was there? kids and food and parents and best of all- a BOUNCY CASTLE! not just one bouncy castle but 2! and you know what else- a BALLPIT! i thought my head was going to explode from all the awesome.
i had so much fun. there was one little falling out of the ballpit backwards and banging my head on the ground incident but i don't really want to talk about that. mom picked me right up and gave me some hugs but i just wanted to go play some more. when you're having fun banging your head doesn't really hurt.
we had snacks today and it wasn't the usual apples and bananas. there was a whole table of bad for you treats. unfortunately for me, mom fixed my plate of snacks and i only got things to eat that she made. no bright orange cheese puffs or cold cheap mini sausages for me. i got some lime bars and frosted apple tart. i looked around and noticed that the girl next to me had a chocolate coin. i almost drooled on her trying to think the chocolate in my mouth. then mom's arm came down from the sky and dropped a chocolate coin on my plate. this could be the best day ever.

everyone finished snacks and there was singing- jingle bells, jingle bells and who came through the door? SANTA! oh my god. so everyone gathered around and santa called out names. he handed out gifts. all the little kids were afraid of santa but i marched right up and had a quick chat with him before i took my gift. i know that santa gives out good stuff and today he didn't disappoint. i tore off the paper and found a pingu dvd! just what i wanted. and that is what happened at the last playgroup of the year. what a way to end. it was a great day.
